Pilot Relay
 The Ex IA Pilot relay offers intrinsic safe pilot wire protection. The pilot relay operates from 110/230Vac (selectable) and offers two relay contacts for connection to auxiliary equipment.
Purpose
To ensure that electrical equipment is properly earthed
Applications:
- Cable and equipment protection
- Human life protection
- Pull key monitor
- Long distance switching in hazardous areas (Exia Group 1)
Features:
- If the equipment is not properly earthed the pilot relay will prevent the operator from energizing the equipment
- The pilot relay operates over long distances allowing connection to long cables
- The pilot input is 1200Vac tolerant to protect the pilot relay against a surge from the line voltage
- The pilot relay could be utilized as a long distance (3000M) fail safe remote switch to operate any type of equipment
- The pilot wire monitor uses a robust measuring method to ensure no false trips
